Observation of the day

The inability to walk in heels (at least the skinny kind, and not a nice, broad clog base) really hinders the search for some nice boots and/or closed-toed shoes to wear to a wedding.

Though honestly, who has an outdoor wedding at the end of -October-? In the afternoon/early evening? 'Cause even 'round these parts, it gets chilly, man. And my little black dress is, keyword, little. Which means I'll have to wear tights, since they're slightly less itchy/rash inducing than nylons.

Looking decent is hard work.

It's hard to say without seeing the dress, but are leggings an option instead? Thinking about it, those might be a bit too casual, actually.

Of course, when you say "chilly" I think 40-50F.

It looks a lot like this dress: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=DRESS&ProductID=2000021512&VariantID= but with cap sleeves, and a ribbon around the waist with a black...rosette, I think is the word? And it's longer. 'Cause...yeah.

I think I may end up wearing a pair of my mom's boots. They're not particularly dressy, but they are at least black, and faux-fur lined so that they'll keep my toes nice and toasty. And it would mean I could just wear socks, and not tights. Because leggins would probably be too casual. And on the off-chance the weather's actually warm, I can bring my sandals along as back-up.
